Transport Location to Destination Out sourcing
Profit centres under WZWB have the opportunity to out source rock and transport on route to the Customer Destination, (following the back loading example) where in this example on user selection of (the rock type) product and its location in combination with the vehicle configuration field (below), on user click of the New Destination button the transport (Destination path) values will default requiring user input of Destination Code and name with either a price or cost value only; prior to successful Save.
-
Users should always select the correct from Location and they should know just what location this is; being an internal Profit centre or another company.
-
Locations can be grouped and filtered reporting product unit and total values by location within the Products window.
-
The from location for a destination will and can only match the (rock type) from product location (e.g. If the product is sourced from the rock shop directly then naturally transport will be sourced from the same rock shop location in addition).
-
There is significant flexibility to offer unlimited combinations with primary advantages under WZWB is being able to maintain the contract price to the customer easily and primarily and secondly allowing management to calculate and record the additional costs incurred (and/or to be absorbed due to out sourcing) at a location level for rock type products and a location to destination level for transport; cart type products.
-
Transport companies are paid a cost rate per tonne based on the from location to destination regardless of the transport price agreed between the Profit centre and the Customer (setup at either Destination or Price book levels often communicated to the customer as being a Supply and Deliver rate per tonne).
-
From the Pre-Entry, Entry and Exit windows the Profit centre with its Location code (match) will always default for users (e.g. BCD location is the default location for BCD Profit centre when multiple locations are True for any (rock type) product). When multiple locations exist for a product the location combo box is visible offering location by code selection. Based on the location selected or available, destinations (having been setup) for the from location (with Hauler and Customer Alpha combinations) to destinations are made available for user selection and/or a new destination can be quickly user created.
